The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) recently released their latest sales numbers, according to the Cape Gazette, and it’s more good news for our region!
In 2014, the data reported that over $1.4 billion went to real estate in Southern Delaware. Particularly, single-family homes saw a 5% increase in sales, and contributed to the over 4,700 real estate transactions in Sussex County throughout last year. “What we’re seeing here is a consistent and steady overall growth in our local real estate markets,” notes Fred Dean, the 2015 SCAOR President.
Dean also points to the improving “days on the market” reading as a cause for excitement. Dropping from an average of 198 days in 2012 to only 151 days in 2014, it’s evident that homes are selling faster. “Coupled with the rest of the data, it just adds to the positive impact of these yearly numbers,” he adds.
