It’s June! Now is the time to truly enjoy your new vacation and beach home on Fenwick Island. After all, Bayside is the place to be during the summer months and non-residents near and far are sure to be jealous this summer season.
We know you’ll have plenty to do this summer at your new Sussex County beach and golf resort community—but just in case you need a break from golfing, tennis, swimming and relaxing, here are some fantastic musical events to check out this month—all from the luxury of our Freeman Stage!
June 14: Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra
Walk out of your new beach home and into your backyard for Opening Night with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra! Join your favorite Bayside family and friends as Maestro Julien Benichou conducts a wide array of symphonic scores with his expressive style, including a few pop favorites featuring a special guest artist.
June 15: The Zinghoppers
From 10-11 am, your little ones will enjoy the electro and hip-hop inspired musical dance tunes of preschool pop band, The Zinghoppers! This EMMY Award winning television series, “The Zinghoppers Show” has been seen by over 2 million people in over 175 countries, and is geared for children 2 to 8 years of age.
June 20: Tommy Edward as Sir Rod Stewart
Sir Rod Stewart is coming to Freeman Stage, well sort of. Tommy Edward performs his 14th year as Sir Rod Stewart. This community free event is filled with your favorites—contests, sing-alongs, fans on-stage, balloons, freebies, family photos, costume changes and none other than Rod Stewart—as portrayed by Tommy Edward, of course!
June 21: Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience
Grammy award winning artist, Terrance Simien, will lead his Zydeco Experience Band on a journey through his indigenous Louisiana Creole Zydeco music, which he has shared with more than 40 countries over his 25 year career.
June 22: Jack and The Beanstalk
It may be summer at the beach, but this community free event will take you and your imagination all the way to Pleasant Village. When Jack trades the family cow for magic beans that grow tall enough to reach the clouds, he must climb the beanstalk in order to stop an evil ogre and save his village. This fifty-five minute performance is perfect for all members of your family, ages 3 years and up.
June 26: Locals under the Lights with The Reminders & Johnny Neel
This free community event features a lineup of local artists, with a special opening and closing performance by The Reminders! This original Americana band has roots in gospel, blues and country.
June 27: Chesapeake Brass Band
Join your local Bayside community on Thursday for this special British-style brass band featuring amateur and professional musicians from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
June 28: WACONGO Dance Company
Enjoy this free community event performance featuring a traditional ensemble of master drummers, musicians and dancers—all former residents of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The dance company will perform a variety of ancestral songs and dances of Central Africa.
