It seems like just yesterday we were unpacking our beach toys and buying a new swimsuit. But just because the school year may be starting for some, doesn’t mean the beach season is entirely over – as long as the weather’s warm, the beach is still a viable option for any weekend.

It’s possible to have gone the entire summer without building a single sand castle. It’s a simple yet entertaining activity, and one your kids will remember for years to come. Once you’ve completed your masterpiece with your family, make sure to snap a quick picture to share with friends!
Set Out for a Picnic
A picnic is always a fun way to say goodbye to summer. Whether you take your meal with you to the beach, or picnic right here at Bayside, sharing your favorite seasonal dishes outdoors is a must-do.
Charter a Fishing Boat
When you’re as close as Bayside is to the ocean (less than 4 miles!), you get to enjoy all of the benefits of beach life – including fishing! There are numerous businesses in the area that will take you out on a fishing boat to catch fish you can keep. Talk about an experience!
Hit the Shops
The end of summer is usually a great time to shop and buy seasonal items on sale. Not only is our area buzzing with cute beach boutiques, but there’s no sales tax in Delaware!
Savor it!
Maybe you don’t have to do one particular activity to get that last drop out of summer – but you should certainly savor it! Sometimes, just heading to the beach for a regular, every day visit is all you need to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall!
