June left us with a new found understanding of sunscreen (which I now apply liberally and frequently), eight canned craft brews to sip on all summer long, simple and stylish buns to quickly pull back long hair, tools to just relax and decompress, and so much more! Aside from the tips I walked away with concerning sunscreen, I also attempted making the Spicy Watermelon Crush we learned with Megan’s Refreshing Cocktails class.

When making the Spicy Watermelon Crushes, I was worried I would end up with vodka that was far too spicy, so I left out all of the seeds and let the infusion sit for 4 hours. While I though there was a good amount of heat to the vodka when I first removed the two jalopenos, the cocktail ended up lacking the spice in addition to the sweetness of the watermelon. Next time, I will try adding seeds to kick it up a notch!

Anyway, back to the purpose of this post – the July schedule! Jeff Evans, Director of Marketing for Carl M. Freeman, and I went outside on a gorgeous day to talk a little about the upcoming classes. Check out our video here:

If you can’t watch the whole thing, I’ll tell you which classes I am most looking forward to (even though I love attending each and every single one):

Making Cake Pops with Tracy Rice – an incredibly talented baker
Summer Breeding Birds with birding expert Jim Rapp – he visited us in the spring
Bellydance Basics – this will be an incredibly fun way to get our bodies moving!

Hope to see you soon!
