What is at the heart of our memories? What special people, places, and objects tell the most about us and the moments and years we have lived? What are the times you cannot forget? In this class, we will explore ways to mine those memories and write about them in an engaging way using a variety of writing techniques.

This class is two-parts, join us for both the first session on Thursday, November, 8th and the second session on Saturday, November 10th.

Thursday, November 8th

  • Memoir vs. Autobiography
  • How to find the roots of your stories
  • The challenges of writing the truth
  • Practice writing prompt

Saturday, November 10th

  • Sharing of writing done between classes
  • Literary techniques to use such as flashback, random time order, verb tense, repetition

$15 for Members, $20 for Guests and Extended Family Members
