Join Sussex County Master Gardener Karen Wilkens for a workshop on building soil and planning your Spring garden. She will talk about using the lasagna technique, a less labor-intensive method of preparing soil by layering with newspaper, shredded paper, compost, grass clippings, chopped leaves and aged manure to create a breathable space for plants and necessary microorganisms to grow.
She will also give tips on making a gardening plan and starting from seed.
Meet at the Community Garden. Located on Sunflower Boulevard between Moon Beam and Blue Indigo, south side of the street. You will see a wooden foot bridge leading from Sunflower into the garden.
Free for primary members. $5 for extended family and guests.
