Tour NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility! Discover some of the many amazing operations occuring at Wallops Island. Bayside Institute will experience the Suborbital Rockets Tour of the facility, which will include a full itinerary of tours, fascinating information, and a boxed lunch. Space is limited to 18 participants and closed toe shoes are required. Our itinerary is outlined below.
Please note there is a possibility that this tour may have to be rescheduled. The Antares rocket launch is currently scheduled for April 17, 2019 at 4:46 p.m. Due to on-going launch support activities for this large scale mission, the NASA Visitor Center and NASA Facilities are unavailable to support group tours 5 days prior and 5 days after the launch date. In the event of a rescheduled tour, if you are registered, you will have first right to the rescheduled date.
8:30 a.m. – Depart from Bayside’s Welcome Center via passenger bus for Wallops Island
Please arrive at the Welcome Center at 8:15 a.m.
10:00 a.m. – Arrive at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center
10:30 a.m. – Tour Fabrication (30 minutes)
11:10 a.m. – Tour Testing (30 minutes)
12:00 p.m. – Boxed Lunch in Cafeteria (45 minutes)
1:00 p.m. – Tour Range Control Center Observation Deck (30 minutes)
2:00 p.m. – Sounding Rocket Launch Pads (30 minutes)
3:15 p.m. – Departure
Your class fee includes transportation to and from Wallops Island, the tour, and a boxed lunch (which you will be contacted for following your registration).
