Heroes & Villains of 1812. Join David Healey for an overview of the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake Bay region, with a special focus on the personalities of the conflict, including Kitty Knight, Captain Sir Peter Parker, Joshua Barney, John O’Neill, Admiral Cockburn, and Mary Pickersgill (who sewed the Star-Spangled Banner flag in a Baltimore brewery). Their stories and personalities resonate today, and they were very much heroes—or villains—to local residents more than 200 years ago.
