Emergencies can happen in Delaware at any time. Knowing what to expect and being prepared in advance can save your life. These seminars will help prepare you and your family for disasters.

Introduction & Delaware Hazards (45 minutes):  Meet presenter Nikki Testa and learn about the Delaware Emergency Management Agency. Also, learn about the many types of severe weather events that affect Delaware, and various hazards including power outages, health pandemics, industrial emergencies, and acts of terrorism

Human & Pet Preparedness (45 minutes): Make a plan and stay informed! Be prepared with communication plans, a support network, emergency plans and evacuation plans for you, your family, and your pets.

Make-A-Kit (45 minutes): Learn what you might need in a “go-bag” for evacuations, a “shelter-in-place” kit, a car kit, and a pet evacuation kit. Don’t forget to consider the seasons and types of emergencies when planning to be prepared!

Fire Suppression Safety (30 minutes): Review types of fire extinguishers, where to store them and how to use them, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms.

Breaks will be taken throughout the morning. Registration required, space is limited.
