Delaware and Snow Hill
Maryland
The Delmarva Peninsula possesses an extensive array of paddling opportunities on rivers, tidal creeks, bald cypress swamps, historic mill ponds, Atlantic coastal bays, the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, and the Atlantic Ocean. Our inaugural Delmarva Paddling Weekend celebrates the paddling experiences around Laurel, Delaware, and Snow Hill, Maryland.
The Delmarva Paddling Weekend will be held September 30 through October 2, 2016. Excursions and clinics by kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard will take place on the Nanticoke and Pocomoke Rivers, Broad Creek and Nassawango Creek, the mill ponds of Western Sussex County, DE, and Chincoteague Bay near Snow Hill, MD.
Participating paddlers will be helping local conservation efforts by promoting outdoor recreation on Delmarva’s waterways. Paddlers, both novice and experienced, can make an important statement about the economic value of low-impact tourism on the Peninsula. Paddlers are encouraged to remind local businesses that they are here to enjoy Delmarva’s natural areas and world-class paddling experiences.
