This Earth Day we celebrate one of our most beloved gifts from Mother Nature: water. More than half of the human body is made up of water, so it’s no surprise that we are intrinsically drawn to its natural properties. Over 96% of residents at Bayside, a coastal community in Fenwick Island, agreed that they would refer a family member or friend to buy a home in the community. Now you have three more reasons below to picture yourself in a home by the water…

  • Lowers Stress – Living near water can lower stress and provide a calmer and more relaxed peace of mind. “We are beginning to learn that our brains are hardwired to react positively to water and that being near it can calm and connect us, increase innovation and insight, and even heal what’s broken,” Nichols writes in his book, Blue Mind: The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, In, On, or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, and Better at What You Do. Personally, I know I always seem to cheer up when my toes are in the sand…
  • Vitamin D – Soak up some Vitamin D near the water’s edge…just don’t forget your sunscreen! While it’s important to protect yourself from the sun, a safe amount of Vitamin D is also an essential benefit to our well-being and supports healthy bones and teeth, as well as cardiovascular health. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/161618.php
  • Active Lifestyle – Living near water promotes an active lifestyle, and maybe it’s just something about the crisp salt air that makes you want to get up and go! Bayside members have access to kayaks and paddleboards that they can use at their leisure on beautiful Assawoman Bay, and many have gone out of their comfort zone and tried the stand up paddleboard yoga class. I have yet to be daring enough to try it, but heard it can be taught at any ability!

So go ahead, visit us by the water, and “Live the Best, Live Bayside!” Please call the Welcome Center at 302-436-9998 and ask for myself or Maria on how to obtain one day passes for FREE to try all our wonderful amenities! Or, contact us by email [email protected] and [email protected] for more information on this exciting promotion.
