Delaware landed on this year’s Top 10 list of Bicycle Friendly States by the League of American Bicyclists.  The state actually improved 8 spots from last year’s list after several government funded initiatives to make biking safer and more accessible throughout the state. The League considers several factors for the list such as: funding for biking programs, presence of advocacy groups, and “share the road” policies, then rank each state accordingly.

Trails and bike routes are a part of a vision for a state with interconnected communities. We will continue working to make Delaware an attractive place not only to bike, but to live and work.” – Delaware Governor Jack Markell, Delmarvanow.com

Support of the biking community is part of the governor’s commitment to improve both health and tourism throughout Delaware.
