Valentine’s Pottery Painting Class @ Bayside Health and Aquatic Club
Feb 7 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Experience some Valentine’s vibes while crafting and painting your own pottery wine glass. You will start with a plain bisque wine glass, then glaze the glass, and lastly custom paint it to your liking. Susan Deller will then take your glass to her studio for a final fire kiln finish. The glasses will be brought back to Bayside for pick up. She will instruct you from start to finish during the entire process.

Flex Flow; Stretch & Balance Essentials @ Bayside Health and Aquatic Club

Is balance a concern for you? Do you experience stiffness or limitations in joint range of motion? If so, you may benefit from attending this gentle exercise session which works every joint in the body while incorporating various activities to improve balance and prevent falls. Participants will be provided with a handout which will walk them through a home program.
Class will be led by fellow Baysider, Donna Morse, a physical therapist with over 35 years experience in the field.

Herbal Bouquet & Driftwood Drying Rack Workshop @ Health & Aquatic Club - Multipurpose Room

Looking for a way to brighten up the winter days and alleviate the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD)? This class will help guide you through some great tips to combat SAD. You will be creating your own handmade 12″ tall herbal bouquet along with an herbal drying rack made from driftwood.
Price includes all materials, mason jar vase, herbs, florals, driftwood and other decorative adornments. Feel free to bring any other herbs or adornments you would like to add.
We will be providing an herbal hot tea bar as you create your bouquet – keeping you nourished, warm and inspired! Christi will bring in some of her go to soup recipes that incorporate many of the herbs from this class.

Exploring The Art of Pottery 7 Part Series @ The Health & Aquatic Club

“Let’s Learn Pottery Together”
The art of pottery is often times described as therapeutic and relaxing.  This March is the perfect time to come out and learn something new and relaxing in a fun and encouraging hands-on pottery class with Susan Deller – a local studio potter at Inspired 59.com.  This Bayside Institute class is designed for Beginners and will include eight (7), 2-3 hour sessions. Participants will learn the basics of pottery hand building, creating & attaching handles & sprigs, and will also be introduced to numerous glazing techniques and surface decorations.  You will work, while having fun, with white mid-fire stoneware clay and everyone will create, at least 2, beautiful pottery pieces:
(1) Mug with microwave-safe handle
                AND
(2) Olive Oil Cruet -or- Dish Soap Dispenser
(See samples of possible pieces you can create below -OR- you can bring your own ideas). 
All pottery pieces created will be kiln-fired twice locally to create food, microwave and dishwasher-safe pottery creations that you will proudly enjoy for years to come &/or gift to a lucky someone!  This class will be limited to a maximum of 12 attendees.
$150* per person for eight (7) sessions in March 2024. Payment in full required prior to starting class March 4th.

Exploring The Art of Pottery 7 Part Series @ The Health & Aquatic Club

“Let’s Learn Pottery Together”
The art of pottery is often times described as therapeutic and relaxing.  This March is the perfect time to come out and learn something new and relaxing in a fun and encouraging hands-on pottery class with Susan Deller – a local studio potter at Inspired 59.com.  This Bayside Institute class is designed for Beginners and will include eight (7), 2-3 hour sessions. Participants will learn the basics of pottery hand building, creating & attaching handles & sprigs, and will also be introduced to numerous glazing techniques and surface decorations.  You will work, while having fun, with white mid-fire stoneware clay and everyone will create, at least 2, beautiful pottery pieces:
(1) Mug with microwave-safe handle
                AND
(2) Olive Oil Cruet -or- Dish Soap Dispenser
(See samples of possible pieces you can create below -OR- you can bring your own ideas). 
All pottery pieces created will be kiln-fired twice locally to create food, microwave and dishwasher-safe pottery creations that you will proudly enjoy for years to come &/or gift to a lucky someone!  This class will be limited to a maximum of 12 attendees.
$150* per person for eight (7) sessions in March 2024. Payment in full required prior to starting class March 4th.
*Instruction, clay, glazes, surface-decorating supplies, cruet spout, use of special Instructor-supplies and two kiln firings, for at least two completed pieces, are included in this fee.
+  *All participants must purchase a one-time basic pottery tool kit from Instructor for $25 (this will be kept by you & used for any future projects).

Spring Paint & Sip with Chestnut & Home @ Bayside Health and Aquatic Club

Get your creative juices flowing and unleash your inner artist at our Spring Paint & Sip with Chestnut & Home. This event will take place on March 21st at 3pm. Don’t worry about bringing any supplies – we will provide everything you need to create your masterpiece. All you need to bring is a positive attitude and your enthusiasm!! In this class we will be painting a spring themed sign. The round backer measures 15 inches & features unique 3-D designs. String will be available to turn your sign into a door hanger or you can choose to hang your sign indoors! No prior painting experience is necessary, so don’t worry if you’re a beginner!
This class will include a glass of red or white wine to sip on while painting your sign.
The cost of this class is $50 for members and $55 for guests of members.

Park on 27th street or as close as possible.
Meet at the Boardwalk and 27th Street Tram Station pictured below.
We will walk south on the boardwalk. The boardwalk is 3 miles in length to downtown Ocean City. We can monitor our distance as we go and determine desired length of walk.

Mental Toughness: Redefining Success in Golf, Tennis, and Pickleball

Want to elevate your sport performance?  It’s not all about winning and losing.

Thomas Johnston, Director of Athletics at Sea Colony and Sport Performance Consultant, will lead a 1-hour interactive seminar on the Fundamentals of Mental Toughness, including cognitive-behavioral routines and goal setting.

Redefining success will help all athletes achieve a higher level of play.

About:

Thomas played junior tennis in Texas, was a 3-time All-American in college.  He then coached at his alma mater, Pomona-Pitzer, and then most notably, as the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at The University of Virginia.  Thomas achieved a Masters of Science in Sport Psychology from California State University at Fullerton, and then completed his doctoral course work in Sport Psychology under the tutelage of noted golf sport psychologist Bob Rotella.
