Summer’s finally here. You’ve found a beautiful spot at The Point to sit on a brightly colored adirondack chair, flip flops are appropriately staked into the sand, and the koozie is keeping your drink cold. Since you’ve picked the perfect setting, all you need to do now is get lost in a good book! The team at Bayside’s Welcome Center has listed some of their favorite beach reads!

Jeff Evans – (Director of Marketing & Sales, Carl M. Freeman Companies) – “I chose Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe the World by Admiral William H. McRaven. This book has inspired me in all facets of my life, and is a page-turner that offers anecdotes through the eyes of a former Navy SEAL.”

Rachel Gershenfeld – (Sales and Marketing Intern, Carl M. Freeman Companies) – “I chose The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I did a project on this book in college, and I had to redesign the cover to what I felt the book represented to me. The story and characters have really stuck with me. I highly recommend it!”

Maria Tonson – (Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Carl M. Freeman Companies) – “I chose Predictably Irrational, Revised and Expanded Edition: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions by Dan Ariely. It’s  just one of those fantastic books to add to your collection – one you can pick up every so often and re-read. It offers some great food for thought on why we do certain things in our everyday lives and perhaps it will make you think twice in the future.”

Erika Cook – (Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Carl M. Freeman Companies) – “I chose The Late Bloomer’s Revolution by Amy Cohen. I love memoirs! I could not put this one down. Amy’s book made me laugh out loud, and even cry out loud, through her experiences of finding love and the harsh reality of suffering loss.”

Jennifer Idzi – (Bayside Institute Coordinator, Troon) – “I chose Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. To me, the Harry Potter series is classic. It’s hard to believe it is 20 years from the book release, but I grew up learning to read with these books from elementary school through high school. Each book captivated my vivid imagination and easily sweeps you away to a magical place. I have enjoyed reading them each a second, and possibly even third time!”

Courtney Lisiewski – (Guest Pass Coordinator, Troon) – “I chose Little Princes by Conor Grennan William Morrow. I read it in a college course. It’s a touching story about children in Nepal that makes you realize how blessed you are in this world. It is a memoir, so it is very inspiring to know that it was an actual life story.”

We hope you enjoy our summer picks! Happy Reading!
