An innovative year-round program, the Bayside Institute will enrich lives by giving our members and their guests the gift of meaningful “me” time. Learn new skills, explore new subjects, embrace hobbies and share wisdom—in any number of fascinating interest areas.

Bayside members with a primary ID card (white cards) and members of Bear Trap Dunes are invited to attend Bayside Institute. One week prior to the class, if there is still availability, members with extended family member ID cards (light blue cards), unaccompanied guests with complimentary guest passes (navy cards), and Resort Guests (red cards) may register for the classes. *certain events may be open to the public based upon specific requirements.

Wellness Week is held annually and open to the public.

 

Classes cost a nominal fee. Cost is dependent upon the instructor’s fee, type of class and materials needed. Some classes may be offered free of charge. An additional fee may be required of Extended Family Members, Member Guests, Resort Guests, and Nonmembers which will be noted with the registration information for each class.

Registration for Bayside Institute classes is available online. Select the class you are interesting in attending and fill out the brief registration form. Confirmations and reminders are sent via email, please make sure to enter the correct email address. Nonmembers, Extended Family Members, Guests of Members and Resort Guests may register within one week of the class.

Upon registering for the class, both Bayside and Bear Trap members are allowing Bayside Institute to charge their member account.

Extended Family Members, Guests of Members, Resort Guests, and Nonmembers are required to pay for the Bayside Institute class they would like to attend when registering. All Extended Family Members, Guests of Members, Resort Guests, and Nonmembers registration fees are non-refundable. When registering, Extended Family Members, Guests of Members, Resort Guests, and Nonmembers will be prompted for payment through PayPal after submitting the initial registration. Your place in the class WILL NOT be reserved without payment.

Those who are not able to register for a class must email Erika Cook at [email protected] to put their name on the wait list. Those on the wait list will be contacted 24 hours before the class if space is available.

Bayside Institute requires a 24-hour cancellation request. If you are a Member and are unable to attend, you must Contact Erika Cook at [email protected] at least 24-hours prior to the start of the class to avoid being charged. Through the cancellation request, Members on the waitlist for that particular class may be contacted with the opportunity to attend the class. If you fail to notify the Bayside Institute Director that they are unable to attend, you will be charged for attendance of the class.

Bayside Institute classes and programs are held at various locations around Bayside. Most common locations include the Point, the lawn at the Commons, NVHomes Model home, Schell Brothers Model Home, and the spaces around the Cove. The location will always be posted in the class information on the registration page. The occasional class may require very limited travel from the Bayside community.

Classes are typically scheduled in the morning or late afternoon throughout the week or weekend. The Director works with instructors schedules to try and accommodate the needs of the community.
