It is hard to believe August is upon us already! I see back to school commercials, advertisements for school supplies in newspapers, and hear high school and college students talking about their last days of summer employment. Despite all of that, I am happy to share with you an August packed with cooking demos, technology, history, and wellness. Last month, we shared wonderful experiences birding (in the heat of summer), learning to use our cameras, and speaking with a dermatologist on proper skin care (I have changed my moisturizing routines since then). This month, I am looking forward to learning ways to cook the sweet corn we see around every bend in the road, frosting professional-looking chocolate truffle cupcakes, and submerging myself in the history of Fort Miles. While I am absolutely not a history buff, I have listened to three different talks on Fort Miles, and highly encourage you to join Dr. Gary Wray for this incredible lesson.

Check out this month’s video below. (I wanted to feature the oysters floating in the Taylor Float behind me, but Carl M. Freeman Companies Director of Marketing, Jeff Evans, had other ideas.)

Hope to see you at a class this August!
