- Fenwick Island State Park - just 4 miles from Bayside, this 344-acre state park along the ocean and bay has a designated surfing area and is a great spot for surf fishing.
- Holts Landing State Park - overlooking the Indian River Bay, this 203-acre area is perfect for family get togethers and picnics with pavilions, built-in barbeque grills, and picnic tables.
- Cape Henlopen State Park - two designated swimming beaches with lifeguards and bath house make this park popular with the kids. Basketball courts, disc golf course and World War II Observation Tower also are great for entertaining the family.
- Delaware Seashore State Park - This large 2825-acre park is bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay. Definitely a beach goers delight.
- Assateague State Park and National Seashore - just minutes from Ocean City, Maryland, Assateague Island is a barrier island that contains a state park and a national park. It's Maryland's only ocean park and is best known for the wild horses that roam the beaches and dunes to the delight of visitors.
