The store is scheduled to open in spring 2007.

Harris Teeter is known for its fresh top-quality meats, seafood and produce. The grocery chain operates 149 stores throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. Harris Teeter gives back to the community at the local store level and through corporate contributions as an important part of doing business and building vibrant neighborhoods. “When we began our search for the neighborhood grocery store that we knew would be a part of Bayside, we had very high standards. The quality of this community warranted a quality food market – in fact we believed that the greater community of Sussex County deserved an additional grocer with a proven record of bringing the best in fine foods, a commitment to exemplary service and one that would be a true contributor in the community,” said Carl M. Freeman Retail, Vice President, Michael T. Reilly.

The 52,000 square foot grocery store will be located at the entrance of Bayside, which is just 4 miles west of Fenwick Island. Bayside offers single family homes, townhomes and condominiums to suit any lifestyle. The community features a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course along with other resort amenities.
