Bayside Settles 200th Home in the Community
SELBYVILLE, DE – August 28, 2006 – Bayside is growing into a thriving community as more and more homeowners are making Bayside their beach resort of choice. The community celebrated its 200th settlement recently and by year’s end, Bayside will have settled over 300 homes.
“We have reached another milestone at Bayside,” Tom Halverstadt, senior vice president of Carl M. Freeman Communities said. “This has been a wonderful summer. In July, we opened our Sun Ridge Tennis and Recreation Center. In August, we celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of Delaware’s first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and now we have reached our 200th settlement.”
Bayside’s newest homeowners Joe and Mary Angle of Columbia, Maryland are no strangers to Carl M. Freeman Communities. “We had rented at Sea Colony in Bethany many times and knew the kind of community that Freeman builds,” Mrs. Angle said. In addition the to golf course, the Angles love Bayside’s walking and biking trails, the fitness center and the proximity to the beach and the town of Fenwick. Mrs. Angle said they are excited about sharing their new home with family and friends. “We chose our Bayside home because the size of the house allows for comfortable guest rooms and open living space.”
To add to the Angle’s delight at settling their home, they learned a few months ago that their neighbors in Columbia, Maryland are also Bayside homeowners. Neither couple knew the other was looking at Bayside.
“This is an exciting time for us and the homeowners,” said Patti Grimes, vice president of sales. “Homeowners were able to enjoy so many activities this summer.” Bayside’s new recreation center opened with a 4,000 square foot outdoor pool, large whirlpool, kids’ splash zone, tennis courts, fitness facility, playground and picnic area. Additional activities provided this summer at Bayside included shuttle service to the beach, miles of walking paths and nature trails, and opportunities for kayaking and boat trips on the bay.
