Bayside to Host Invitational Tennis Tournament

SELBYVILLE, DE. June11, 2008 – Bayside, the award-winning resort community near Fenwick Island, will host its Inaugural Invitational Tennis Tournament on June 21 & 22, 2008. The tournament will be held at the community’s Sun Ridge Tennis & Recreation Center, which is home to five Har-Tru tennis courts.

Marty Godwin, Bayside’s Director of Tennis, says the tournament is open to tennis players rated 3.5 to 5.0. The format is mixed teams (3.5 and 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 doubles), best of three sets consolation tournament with a 12-point tie breaker for all matches. The draw is limited to 16 teams for each event and USTA tournament rules will apply.

“We’ve had a great response to our first invitational tournament, so teams interested should register soon,” says Godwin. “Bayside’s Sun Ridge Tennis & Recreation Center is a beautiful facility. We are looking forward to a fun weekend for everyone.”
