Carl M. Freeman Companies bringing SUBWAY© to Bayside Marketplace
SELBYVILLE, DE. March 25, 2009 – Carl M. Freeman Companies' commercial retail division, based in Olney, Maryland, announced today that a SUBWAY© Restaurant franchise will lease one of its new storefronts at Bayside Marketplace on Rt. 54 in Selbyville, Delaware. The retail center, located at the entrance of the Bayside community, is currently anchored by a Harris Teeter grocery market and a PNC bank.
Carl M. Freeman Companies broke ground earlier this month on an expansion project of Bayside Marketplace that will add seven store fronts between the grocery store and the bank. The new retail space should be completed in the next four months with the SUBWAY® store expected to be open late summer. SUBWAY© will occupy the 1400 sq. ft. storefront next to PNC Bank.
“Subway will be a great addition to Bayside Marketplace and one of several new stores to open in 2009,” said Mike Reilly, senior vice president and general manager of Carl M. Freeman Companies’ commercial real estate division. Reilly says the success of Bayside’s Harris Teeter has prompted strong interest from a number of businesses wanting to lease space in the community’s retail center.
In other Bayside news, construction is underway on the community’s second outdoor pool. Located in The Commons neighborhood, the new outdoor facility will consist of a large free form heated pool, a separate kiddie pool, a generous deck area, and a complex housing showers, changing rooms, and check-in area. Bayside’s other pool is part of its Sun Ridge Tennis & Recreation Center. The new neighborhood pool is slated to open Memorial Day weekend.
